What Ben’s Writing
I have been a very very busy boy the last few weeks. To give you some context, I have a short break between contracted projects where I am getting to work on something for myself.
GAY ICARUS RETELLING:
I reached 45,000 words in a modern day Icarus rom-com which I have paused for the time being. Yesterday I sent it to my agent so she can see if its worth continuing with, or shelving. I think the story has promise, but I’m a little lost on direction so I look forwards to hearing what she has to say.
GAY ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE
The project that has my heart at the moment is a WALKING DEAD meets X-MEN book that I’m currently drafting. It’s set three days after the world (ends), where a man called Milo meets a mysterious stranger after being attacked by a strange ‘seemingly undead’ creature. I don’t want to say much more because I’m still drafting, but I can say that I’m having so so much fun.
DARKMOURN UNIVERSE BOOK 5
It’s officially happening. I have a story, I have a plot, I have the characters AND I have the retelling. Book 5 is going to be the last (YES THE LAST) Darkmourn book. It’s a GOLDILOCKS AND THE THREE BEARS inspired story, following our MC and THREE LOVE INTERESTS…. all of whom have to go on a heist to save Darkmourn for complete and utter annihilation! Sounds crazy right? At the moment I am plotting the book, and will not be able to start working on it for a little while. But I am so excited to finally have a story that I’m excited to get into. Book 5 will be a stand alone, but for those who have read the other four books you are going to have POV’s from all previous characters as little easter eggs. I can’t say much else… but I will share that the Prologue is set from MARIUS, LORD OF THE VAMPIRES POV.
